The Sapphire TRIXX utility can be downloaded here: On a good working machine you will only find “AMD External Events Utility” set as a service. I am very curious to know if on machines where BOINC does not work after a second reboot one or more driver parts are services.Īll driver parts start with the letter combinations “ati” or “amd” :-) After another reboot TRIXX worked fine again. ![]() A message like “service is marked for removal” (or something like that) was displayed which assured me that my first thoughts about a driver being set as a service was right. The TRIXX utility would not start however. No “cannot find a usable GPU” messages any more in start-up files after successive reboots. In my case it was a bit clear that it was done by the graphics card utility “Sapphire TRIXX” because other users of ATI cards did not have the problem.Īfter inspecting the utility carefully I found in the info screen the button “safe bios”, in my opinion a rather strange button.Īfter pushing the button and a reboot, Boinc worked normal. In the start-up file it’s the same message that you get after installing Boinc as a service.Ĭould some entity on your PC after the first reboot some part of the driver system have marked as a service? But after rebooting a second time Boinc cannot find a usable GPU. After installing Catalyst and rebooting, Boinc works fine. Hopefully this post will save some others some time and frustration. Some month ago I had the same problem. Switch to Chrome, at least until Apple or Netflix or Slingbox figure out the incompatibility issue (if you're browser agnostic).Leave the SlingPlayer Safari plugin installed but disable it via Safari Preferences to stream video from Netflix in Safari (NOTE: I did not test this, but it seems to me it should work.).Stream TV via Slingbox in Chrome and do everything else, including streaming video from Netflix, in Safari (if Safari is your preferred browser).Stream video from Netflix in Chrome and do everything else, including streaming TV via Slingbox, in Safari (if Safari is your preferred browser). The SlingPlayer plugin for Chrome did not appear to cause a problem with Netflix in Chrome, so there are a few workarounds: Of course, this wouldn't be a true solution if my Mac were a MacBook that I planned to use to stream video from home. Since this was the most recent plugin I had installed and it was used for streaming video, I decided to try removing this plugin, and this resolved the problem. I recently installed a Slingbox at home and to test to make sure it was streaming properly, I installed the SlingPlayer Safari plugin on my iMac. I read on Techspot that Safari now has native support for Netflix, in other words the Silverlight plugin is no longer needed (see ) so, I removed the Silverlight plugin. I tried the three recommendations from Netflix to resolve the issue (i.e., reboot, quit open media players, and clear Netflix website data - see ), but none of these actions resolved the problem. Read on if you're interested in the troubleshooting steps I took to get to the problem resolution. To get straight to the point, removing the SlingPlayer Safari plugin resolved the problem. I started getting an error when trying to stream videos from Netflix in Safari (version 9.0.3). I have a 21.5-inch, Mid 2011 iMac with 4 GB of memory, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB graphics, running El Capitan 10.11.3. ![]()
